GEORGIA A. STEARNS
Georgia A. Stearns is licensed to practice law in the State of California, admitted to practice law in the Northern and Eastern District Courts, and has presented appeals before the Third District Court of Appeals. Ms. Stearns earned her Juris Doctor degree in 1994 from Humphreys College School of Law. She is a veteran of the United States Navy and a graduate of Louisiana Baptist Theological Seminary where she earned her Bachelor’s Degree. Ms. Stearns began her legal career as a certified paralegal.
Ms. Stearns has over 25 years of experience in civil litigation, with the past 14 years being focused on her civil trial practice in the areas of Contract, Governmental, and Construction Law. As the Director of Litigation Services for Di Duca Stearns, PC, Ms. Stearns oversees all litigation, including mediation, arbitration, trial, and appeals.
Ms. Stearns began her private practice working with several leading insurance companies on subrogation claims in which she litigated more than 300 cases. She was specially assigned by the Court to act as the County’s Family Law Facilitator in Colusa County, and she held the position of deputy county counsel for 6 years, advising boards and department heads, and handling juvenile dependency proceedings, public guardian matters, litigation representing the public entity, and advising the County departments concerning contracting and employment issues.
In August of 2005, Ms. Stearns was selected as the only California attorney to attend the American Prosecutor’s Research Institute Advanced Trial Advocacy for Civil Child Protection Attorneys, joining 50 attorneys from other states for specialized trial practice training. Ms. Stearns also had the honor of working with District Court Chief Magistrate John F. Moulds as his assistant In-Chambers. .
